Foundation and History
The Department of Aviation Management started its activities within the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics on 01.09.2016 and was affiliated with Tarsus University, which was established by the law published in the Official Gazette dated 18.05.2018 and numbered 30425.
Title Earned
Our graduates may have different titles such as operations agent, passenger services agent, and crew planning specialist, depending on their positions in the aviation organizations they are employed.
Admission and Registration Conditions
Having a high school diploma, T.C. Candidates are placed in the university, taking into account the success scores they have obtained in the central exams (TYT: Basic Proficiency Test and AYT: Field Proficiency Test) conducted by OSYM and their preference ranking after the exam. Foreign students who are high school graduates are admitted to the university according to the results of the Foreign Student Examination (YÖS).
Recognition of Prior Teaching
Transfers of students from other universities to our university and between departments are carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Senate and relevant legislation.
Qualification Requirements and Rules
A student who fulfills the provisions of "Tarsus University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations" and successfully completes all the courses in the program with 240 ECTS credits is entitled to receive a diploma.

Program Profile
There are international and national regulations and instructions that must be complied with for businesses operating in various fields in the aviation sector. For this reason, in the aviation management department, education is provided in line with these principles and the safety, security, efficiency, and sustainability principles of air transportation. Vocational courses such as Air Transport, Airline Management, Airport Management, Operational Performance, Aviation Safety, and Security; Theoretical courses within the scope of business management such as Financial Management, Marketing Management, Human Resources Management, Logistics Management, and courses such as Ground Handling, Passenger Services, Air Cargo and Dangerous Goods depending on the recommendations and instructions of IATA, DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) is included in the Aviation Management Department program. During the education, it is aimed to teach English, which is the professional language in the aviation industry, in accordance with the standards in the field. In addition, the students of the department have the opportunity to do internships on demand. With the internship process, students will be able to observe the equivalent of their theoretical knowledge in the field of practice and will have created an important step for their career steps after education.

Aviation Management graduates are employed in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, General Directorate of State Airports Authority, airports, airline companies, ground handling companies, air taxi companies, aviation training organizations, aircraft maintenance companies, and other different businesses operating in the civil aviation sector. Professional groups such as Air Traffic Controller, Apron Officer, and Assistant Aviation Specialist working under the General Directorate of State Airports Authority and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation can be preferred if the required scores are obtained from named KPSS and YDS. It is also possible to be employed as a "Contracted Officer" in the Turkish Air Force Command. In addition to the KPSS General Culture and General Aptitude exams, if they take the Educational Sciences exam, they can be appointed as "Teachers" after meeting the necessary conditions in the aviation departments opened within the Vocational High Schools under the Ministry of National Education, which are still new in Turkey. Similarly, graduates can find the chance to work as a "Vocational Teacher" in Private Aviation High Schools. In addition, graduates who get the required results in the ALES and YDS exams can also choose an academic career.
Access to Higher Degree Programs
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs, provided that they get a required score from the ALES exam, have sufficient English language knowledge, document this (YDS, IELTS, etc.), and meet the conditions specified in the regulation of the relevant institute.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
Exams and evaluations in this program are within the framework of the provisions of "Tarsus University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations". Students who meet the conditions related to attendance and application, who take the final or make-up exam, get a DC or higher score, and a semester success score of DC or higher are considered "Successful".
Graduation Requirements
In order for students to graduate from the program, they must have completed all their courses and must have collected at least 240 ECTS credits from the courses in the program.
